Social Studies Teacher: George Dawe

As your child’s teacher, I provide the Social Studies content that your student needs to complete their school requirements. Students are at various ages, ability levels, and come from diverse backgrounds. I try to help them accomplish their academic goals while learning about social studies themes and objectives. I hold students accountable by expecting students to work hard and believe in themselves.

Students in high school grades are typically assigned to US History 1, US History 2, or World History as these largely align with the credit requirements in school districts across the state. We also offer courses such as Civics, Government, and Geography to ensure your child is enrolled in the correct history credit to achieve graduation.

Students in grades 6, 7 or 8 are provided middle school History courses that introduce History content and teach them study skills that will help them in high school.

For students that are sixteen or older and on the GED path, Social Studies content is taught along with test taking strategies that support continuous practice to help students pass the official GED Test.

Please see school course catalog for Social Studies titles and descriptions.
